At Newburgh Buddy Ball, our mission is to bring the joy of baseball to children and adults who struggle with mental or physical disabilities and otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience sports. We make baseball accessible to all with our nonprofit program.

We also work with the Special Olympics and other community organizations to strengthen our community through unity, inclusion and a love of the game.

Get to know our coach and what we do

Jim Hopkins formed Newburgh Buddy Ball in 2008, starting it for his son and other kids they had met. They were able to bring the Newburgh, IN community together to support and love the people who need it most. David Ernspiger was asked to take over the program in 2019, and currently serves as Buddy Ball League President. We:

Are a nonprofit run solely on donations
Have two seasons a year
Run two games a week every Saturday morning
Use a buddy system, partnering our athletes with our amazing volunteers

We're currently in the process of raising funds to turf our fields and for a sensory handicap-accessible playground to go next to our field. If you're interested in donating, volunteering or signing up your child for our league, contact us today.
